Questions procurement teams ask
Does EV SUN light contain UV?
No. The luminaires emit in the 450–600 nm range and are in the photobiological exempt group (RG0) under IEC 62471. Microbe reduction is triggered by ordinary white light, thanks to the copper in the nano-coating.
Does the luminaire only work right next to it?
No. It works throughout the room, not just near the luminaire, in the air and on surfaces. In the IBPRS-PIB test the sampler stood 1 m above the floor and the luminaires were on the ceiling at 2.9 m.
Does the coating release nanoparticles?
Not to any significant extent. CIOP-PIB measured emissions during dry and wet cleaning of the luminaire: 518–654 particles/cm³ against a reference threshold of 20,000 (report 287/PZ/2025/NC).
Can they be installed in hospitals?
Yes. PZH hygiene certificate B.BK.60112.0440.2024 covers healthcare facilities, excluding rooms with elevated hygiene requirements such as operating theatres.
Why does the effect grow over time?
Air circulates in the room and gradually passes the luminaires. In the IBPRS-PIB test the reduction was 34% after 6 hours and 92% after 24 hours, so the luminaires work best in continuous operation.
